Granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) has been in clinical use for over two decades to enhance hematopoiesis and granulopoiesis to increase the numbers of hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells in patients with neutropenia and patients involved in bone marrow transplantation.
