Special Issues at Scientific Archives


Scientific Archives frequently publishes a collection of articles of a specific research area within the scope of a journal under the special issue category. The purpose of these special issues is to Uncover the latest breakthroughs in the respective topic. These special issues will be edited by the editors of the respective journal, or Guest Editors. These collections are a highly effective tool in improving your academic profile and marking you out as influential within your discipline.

Scientific Archives is welcoming proposals on guest editing special issues from the researchers and or practitioners.

Guidelines for Special Issue Guest Editor(s)

Guest Editor(s) plays a vital role in by handling the review process of the respective special issue. All submitted special Issue articles must undergo peer review by a minimum of two independent reviewers just like the regular journal issue articles as per the scientific archives policy. All special issue submissions shall meet the ‘article submission guidelines’ of the journal. The guest editor should approve any deviations in the special issue submissions. The Guest editors’ responsibilities and roles will remain the same as the journal editors. Please see more information on journal editor’s responsibilities here.

Guest editors should co-ordinate the editorial process in consultation with the editor-in-chief/editorial office. In order to complete the review process efficiently, the guest editors can request assistance from the Editorial board/editorial office. Guest editors should aware that the accepted special issue manuscripts will be simultaneously published in the regular issue and pulled into the online Special Issue.

Required Special Issue Proposal Information

The following information is required if your special issue proposal is accepted further. So we request you to be attentive to the following requirements.

  • Names of all guest editors including full affiliations and institutional email & postal addresses.
  • Short biographies, Updated CVs & recent photographs of all the guest editors for displaying at the journal’s respective special issue page.
  • Title of the special issue (as confirmed by the editorial office).
  • A brief summary of the special issue and subject which include aims and scope
  • A list of topics that may be covered by the special issue
  • A one-page Call-for-Papers which can be used for communicating the potential authors
  • A list of reviewers who can assist in the article review process
  • An estimated number of articles to be published in the special issue along with the potential authors
  • Tentative timelines for submission, review completion and publication
  • An editorial article for the respective special issue. It can be discussing the importance of the special issue or the contents of the special issue.
