Dr. Amarendranath Choudhury is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Zoology at Patharkandi College (affiliated under Assam (Central) University). Dr. Choudhury received his Ph.D. in Exercise Zoology (Neurochemistry) from Assam University and completed a Diploma course in 'Design Thinking for Innovation' from University of Virginia. He has been a Junior Scientist in Bioassay Division at Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Limited since 2017. Since 2013, he has published more than 20 peer-reviewed articles and obtained more than 300 citations. His current Google Scholar H-index is 9 (i10 index = 8). His research expertise includes Classical Zoology, Neurochemistry, Bioassay development and execution, Immune system monitoring, flow cytometry, Adherent and Suspension Animal Cell line culture, multiplex biomarker detection among other common biological measurement techniques. Dr. Choudhury is Associate Editor of The Neuroscience Chronicles Journal and actively serving as Reviewer for more than 15 journals from reputed publishing houses. He is a Fellow Member of International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society, Indian Academy of Neuroscience, Indian National Science Academy, FORCE11: The Future of Research Communication, and International Natural Product Science Task Force. Dr. Choudhury was Globally ranked 3rd Position among the reviewers from Multidisciplinary Research Section.
Dr. Choudhury’s research focuses on 1). Biochemical aspects of neurodegeneration, 2). Effect of diet on brain neurochemistry, 3). Ethnopharmacological approaches for neurotherapeutics, 4). Vesicular trafficking and functional nutritional modifications to improve neuro-immune health.
