Biography

Dr. Ramesh Kumar is a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, USA. Dr. Kumar has qualified all India National Eligibility Test- Junior Research Fellowship (NET-JRF) from Council of Scientific & Industrial Research – University Grant Commission (CSIR-UGC) and joined Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI) Lucknow India for his Ph.D. thesis in 2003. In the year 2009, Dr. Kumar has obtained his Ph.D. degree in "Lifesciences" from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) New Delhi, India. In 2009, he has joined as Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Molecular Biology, Umea University, Umea Sweden. In 2012, Dr. Kumar has joined as Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Arthritis and Clinical Immunology at Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF), Oklahoma City, USA. He has vast expertise in the area of Immunology, Molecular biology etc. Dr. Kumar has published numerous papers in reputed journals and has participated in several international conferences. He is serving as editor and reviewer for several international journals.

Research Interest

Pathogenesis of Chlamydia in mouse model, ex-vivo analysis of Chlamydia infection in mouse and human oviduct epithelial cell lines, Immunology of sexually transmitted disease (STD), role of Toll-like receptors in STD, development of vaccines against STD, cell signaling, role of innate and adaptive immunity in infectious diseases, cloning and expression of gene in addition to Crisper/Cas9 gene edition.
