Biography
Dr. Luciana Gneo, University of Oxford, OX · Cancer Genomics & Immunology Group, Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics. PhD in Experimental Medicine. My Research interest are in understanding the role immune cells cells play in the tumour microenvironment.
Research Interest
My Research interest are in understanding the role myeloid derived suppresive cells (MDSCs) play in the solid tumour microenvironment. I’ve always been fascinated by how cancer cells developed the ability to orchestrate the surrounding environment to generate an immunosuppressive tumour microenvironment that favours tumour growth whilst suppressing T-cell activity. My long-term career research goal is to development strategies that overcome this immunosuppressive environment.
