Dr. Paul Tompach is currently working as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in private practice, Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA. In 1989, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, Minneapolis, USA. He completed his Ph.D. degree in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Iowa, USA in 1994. In 1996, he completed advanced education training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Iowa, USA. From 1996-1997, he was AO/ASIF Post Doctoral Fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Boston, USA. Dr. Tompach has received many awards and honors including selection for Omicron Kappa Upsilon, National Dental Honor Society, Henry B. Clark Memorial Award in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, Minneapolis, USA, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Resident Research Award, and the ITI Straumann Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident Research Award. Dr. Tompach is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a Fellow in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and he has professional membership with the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, the Minnesota Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Minneapolis District Dental Society. Dr. Tompach has published several scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and has participated in many national and international conferences. Dr. Tompach’s research interests include Wound Healing, Bone Biology, Topics in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery including Acute Postoperative Pain Management and the Opioid Epidemic.
