Mostafa El-Sheekh is a Professor of Phycology at Tanta University, Egypt. He has nearly 42 years of experience in research and teaching in the field of algae, microbiology, and their applications. Dr. El-Sheekh served as the Vice Dean and Dean Faculty of Science at Tanta University, Egypt, and Cultural Counsellor at the Egyptian Embassy in Yemen and Uzbekistan. He also served as Vice President of Tanta University for postgraduate studies and research. He is the author of 331 papers, 37 Book chapters, and 8 books. He also serves as an editorial member and reviewer for more than 120 peer-reviewed Journals. He was one of the World’s Top 2% of Scientists List published by Stanford University in 2020, 2021, 2022 , 2023 and 2024. He holds the State Encouragement Award in Biological Sciences, the Tanta University Encouragement Award in Basic Sciences, the Tanta University Appreciation Award, the Tanta University Award for Excellence, the Tanta University Award for the Highest Scientific Citation, and the Best Institutional Performance Award at Tanta University as Dean of the Faculty of Science. He constructed research Labs of Phycology and renewable energy in the Botany Department, Faculty of Science, Tanta University. He was awarded several Research Projects from the Egyptian Academy for Science and Technology, Science, Technology and Innovation Funding Authority (STDF), and Tanta University.
