Biography

Dr. Elaine L. Bearer is currently working as Professor in the Department of Pathology at The University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, USA. She is also a Visiting Professor at California Institute of Technology, USA. Dr. Bearer received her medical degree from University of California San Francisco School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. She is a member of California Academy of the Sciences (since 1987), New York Academy of Sciences (since 1999), US-Canadian Academy of Pathology (since 2006, intermittent). She has published over 100 original research publications as well as chapters and two books.

Research Interest

Molecular pathology of the brain and nervous system, neurobiology of mental health, and live imaging by magnetic resonance and optical microscopy.
