Biography
Dr. Gupta is currently a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the Department of Neuroscience at Mortimer B. Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute, Columbia University, New York. His focus is on understanding the development of leg motor neurons and exploring the genes responsible for providing neuronal identity and diversity. Dr. Gupta earned his doctoral degree in the field of Biochemistry and Toxicology from the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), India. Dr. Gupta identified the molecular mechanism behind environmental chemicals-induced diabetes and diabetic complications while at the Department of Embryotoxicology, CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (CSIR-IITR), India. Dr. Gupta has experience in multiple biological disciplines, including Molecular biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Toxicology and Neuroscience.
Research Interest
Dr. Gupta’s primary research interest is exploring the cellular and molecular mechanism behind metabolic disorder-induced neurological disorders. He is also highly interested in studying Cellular signaling, Multiomics and Toxicology.
