Biography
Dr. Changhwan Yoon is currently working as a cancer researcher in the Department of Surgery at Columbia University Medical Center. He received his BS in Biology in 2003 and MS in Cancer biology from Dongguk University, Korea. In 2012, he received his Ph. D. in Molecular Biochemistry from Hanyang University, Korea. Since 2012, he has been working with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
Research Interest
Dr. Yoon’s basic and translational research laboratory studies examine (1) vascular endothelial growth factor A and hypoxia inducible factors in sarcoma progression and radiation resistance and (2) the role of tumor initiating cells in gastroesophageal cancer, and (3) biomarkers for gastroesophageal cancer with tumor organoids. My major study is relapse, tumorigenesis, EMT, and resistance in variety cancer.
