Biography
Dr. Bhuvanesh Sukhlal Kalal is currently a Post-doctoral Scholar in the Department of Pharmacology and Nutritional Sciences, College of Medicine, University of Kentucky, USA. His research is focused on the process of cancer metastasis and therapeutic resistance. Dr. Kalal received Ph.D. in cancer biology from the Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) India where his thesis was focused on understanding drug resistant mechanism in melanoma. As Post-Doctoral Associate in Wayne State University, he worked on oxidative stress medicated mitochondrial dysfunction in diabetic retinopathy. He also worked as Assistant Professor in A. J. Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre; Research Scientist in the National Institute of Epidemiology (NIE), India. He has published over 20 articles in peer-reviewed journals and was awarded with Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Young Investigator from India and Southeast Asia by International Society of Infectious Diseases; Young Researcher in Microbiology by Venus International Foundation; Low Income Countries Award by Society for Autism Research and other national and international awards and fellowships.
In addition, he is currently a member of Society for Radiation Research, International Society for Autism Research, International Society for Infectious Diseases, Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists, Association of Clinical Biochemists of India, and also Bentham Brand Ambassador for Bentham Science Publishers. He is currently a member of 18 advisory boards and reviewer of many peer-reviewed prestigious national and international journals.
