Biography
Dr. Ioana Ghita is currently working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Oncology and Diagnostic Sciences, University of Maryland Baltimore, U.S.A. She received her D.D.S Degree in Romania, and after moving to the U.S. she completed a 3-year Residency Program in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at University of Maryland Baltimore.
Dr. Ghita is currently working also on her Ph.D., the title of her thesis is “ Soluble immune biomarkers as a diagnostic tool of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma immune profile”, trying to identify soluble immune biomarkers that could read the underlying tumor immune profile. Dr. Ghita has published several papers in reputed journals and has presented and participated in different national and international conferences.
Research Interest
Dr. Ghita’s research interest is in oral and experimental pathology and translational research. She is studying oral cancer and its response to immunotherapy, trying to find different immune biomarkers as a diagnostic tool for this disease.
