Zhang Yue is Deputy Director of the Research Institute at Shenzhen Futian Rheumatology Hospital and Distinguished Professor under the Futian “Three Famous Projects.” He earned a B.Sc. in Genetics from Nankai University (1992) and a Ph.D. in Cell & Developmental Biology from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland (2006), followed by post-doctoral training at the University of Pittsburgh. Subsequent faculty appointments included Instructor at Harvard Medical School and Senior Scientist at the University of Montreal. His 37 SCI papers (>5,200 citations, 5 ESI hot/highly cited) define nutrient-sensing and epigenetic pathways governing longevity and age-related diseases. He co-authored the ACE2-wide-expression paper recognized with an IDP Five-Year Excellence Award, co-formulated national osteoarthritis guidelines, and serves on editorial boards of CMJ and multiple Frontiers journals.
His research focuses on the "gift of God" - Vitamin D receptor DAF-12/VDR robustness and systemically important targets including LET-363/(m)TOR autophagy metabolism and immunity, heat shock factor HSF1, microRNAs, and LET-418/Mi2/NuRD epigenetic fields related to longevity and age-related diseases (such as osteoarthritis, tumors, Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, lupus, etc.).
