Dr. Jacopo Belfiore is an anesthesiologist and intensivist at the Transplant Anesthesia and Critical Care Unit of the University of Pisa, Italy, a high-volume tertiary referral center performing approximately 160 liver transplants annually. He is currently completing a PhD at the University of Pisa focused on perioperative hemostasis and coagulation management in liver transplantation and holds a Second-Level Master’s Degree in Hemostasis and Thrombosis from the University of Florence (Careggi University Hospital). His clinical and scientific activity is primarily focused on perioperative hemostasis, viscoelastic coagulation monitoring (ROTEM/TEG), transfusion strategies, and thrombotic complications in liver transplantation, as well as critical care management of end-stage liver disease and sepsis. His research has contributed to improving the understanding of fibrinolysis phenotypes, coagulation dynamics, and transfusion prediction models in liver transplant recipients.
