Heitor J. S. Medeiros, MD, is an anesthesiologist with a focused academic and clinical interest in regional and neuraxial anesthesia. He earned his medical degree in Argentina (2011–2017), followed by completion of his residency training in anesthesiology in Brazil (2021–2024). He subsequently served as a Research Fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital (2024–2025), contributing to clinical research in anesthesiology. Since 2025, he has been pursuing residency training in anesthesiology at Massachusetts General Hospital. His work has primarily focused on regional anesthesia and its effects on postoperative pain scores and opioid consumption, with the goal of improving analgesic strategies and enhancing patient-centered outcomes.
Dr. Medeiros has contributed to book chapters and has presented his work at numerous conferences of leading anesthesiology societies, including the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), the World Congress of Anaesthesiologists (WCA), and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA).
His academic interests include regional anesthesia, multimodal analgesia, and strategies aimed at reducing opioid utilization while maintaining effective pain control. He remains committed to advancing the field through clinically relevant research and evidence-based practice.
