Biography

Dr. Swagat Ray is currently working as an Senior Lecturer in the Department of Cell Biology at the School of Life Sciences, University of Lincoln, Lincoln, UK. He completed his BSc in Microbiology from Bangalore University (India); MSc in Medical Biochemistry at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal (India) and PhD in Cell Biology at University of Reading, UK (Felix Scholar 2005-10). Prior to joining Lincoln, Swagat was a senior Research Fellow at the University of Sheffield and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Warwick and Queen’s University Belfast respectively. Swagat’s research has been published in high impact international journals such as Nature Communications, Nature Neuroscience, Cell Reports, Scientific Reports and Oncotarget. His main research interest is DNA Damage Response (DDR) and its regulation by transcription. He is also trying to map the genomic landscape of DDR using cutting-edge Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) techniques like 4sU-seq and AP-seq.
