Dr. Luo Jia is an Immunologist with over 10 years of research experience in academic and industry settings. He is currently working as a Team Lead for Disease Modeling Group at Biocytogen, Waltham, MA, USA. He has previously worked with Seres Therapeutics, Cambridge, MA, USA. After completing his MS in Microbiology and Immunology from Huazhong Agricultural University, China, he moved to US and received his Ph.D. in Infection, Inflammation and Immunity from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in the year 2021. Dr. Jia Served as a peer reviewer for over 10 international journals in Immunology, Oncology, and Microbiome. He has published 10 peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals, including top tier journal Mucosal Immunology. Dr. Jia has filed 3 patents at infectious disease area in China and USA. He is a Member of Society of Mucosal Immunology and American Physiological Society.
Strong expertise in gastrointestinal physiology and mucosal immunology, T cell and innate immune responses, epithelial-immune interactions, human/murine organoid biology, and microbiome.
Contribute to more than 3 human autoimmune and metabolic disease areas in drug discovery: Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Cirrhosis, and Graft-versus-Host Disease (GVHD).
Experience in developing preclinical animal disease models including IBD, Asthma, Atopic Dermatitis, Experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE).
Experience in monoclonal/polyclonal antibody development from antigen, hybridoma to full validations.
