Biography

Professor Abdurrahman Sagir is head of the Gastroenterology of Internal Medicine of the BETHESDA-Krankenhaus, an academic teaching hospital in Duisburg, Germany. He completed his postgraduate medical training at the University of Düsseldorf (internal medicine, gastroenterology, hepatology, and infectious diseases), where he was appointed professor of medicine in 2005. Prof. Sagir conducted clinical research in gastroenterology, hepatology, endoscopy, and ultrasonography (specifically elastography). In his present position, he covers a broad spectrum of internal medicine with a special interest in endoscopy, hepatology, and ultrasonography.
