Abdel-Wanis Mohamed is a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon and Professor of Orthopedic Surgery with 35 years experience in Orthopedics currently serving at Ar Ras General Hospital, KSA. He was graduated from Assiut University in 1988, and got PhD degrees from Kanazawa University, Japan in 2002. His main specialty is spine
surgery, including tumors, infections, fractures, deformities, and advanced navigation-assisted techniques, however have interest in limb fractures, infections, tumors, as well as arthritis. Previously, he was Professor at Sohag University, Egypt, where he supervised and examined numerous postgraduate theses. He authored more than 70 peer-reviewed publications and 4 book chapters, and serve on the editorial boards of 20 journals, including “Global Spine Journal”, “Spineline” and “Advanced Spine Journal”. He is a reviewer for 29 journal including “The Spine journal”, “SICOT-J”, “Journal of Bone and Mineral Metabolism” and “Journal of Bone and Mineral Research”. He had held leadership roles in AOSpine, chaired national and international courses, and contributed as faculty in over 40 AO educational events worldwide. His achievements have earned him multiple awards, including AOSpine Regional Educator of the Year (2016) and recognition among the Top 2% of scientists globally (2023).
