Biography

Dr. Amando Pimentel Singun Jr. has been the Quality Assurance Officer under the Deputy Assistant Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs since 2022, a faculty member in the MSc in Digital Transformation and Innovation program and undergraduate IT program of UTAS, Oman.
He has been appointed by the OAAAQA as EXTERNAL REVIEWER for Institutional Standards Assessment Application across Higher Education Institutions since January 9, 2025.
Backed by an internal decree, he played a key role in the core team responsible for developing the university's Strategic Plan (SP) to be implemented across its eleven branches. In collaboration with management, he has also been drafting a master action plan to serve as a guide for all eight academic departments/centers at the UTAS-Muscat branch.
He led the revision of the Information Systems curriculum as Head of the Information Systems Specialization Sub-Committee at Colleges of Technology, Oman (2012-2017). He also served as the Department QA Coordinator (2012-2020) and was the Editor-in-Chief of the IT Department Newsletter (2016-2018). Additionally, he held membership in the OQNHE (2014-2016), now known as OAQHE.
He received the Global Peer Review Award (2019) from the Web of Science Group. Following an internal decree, he was nominated as an evaluator for the 9th and 10th cycles of the Annual Research Forum organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MoHERI) in Oman for two consecutive years starting in 2022.
He has held various editorial positions, including Editor-in-Chief of the ‘Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Reviews’; Section Editor of the ‘Journal of IT and Computer Science’; Editor of the ‘International Journal of Computer and IT’; Handling Editor of the ‘EAI Endorsed Transactions on Energy Web’; Editor of the ‘International Journal of Computers and Technology’; Editor of the ‘International Journal of Management & IT’; Editorial Review Board Member of the ‘International Journal of ICT Education’ and ‘IMCC Journal of Science’. His research interests include UXD, HCI, Digital Transformation, and Total Quality Management.
He holds a bachelor’s degree (2002), master’s degree (2003), and Doctorate (2016) in Information Technology from Saint Paul University Philippines, and is listed in the Register of Licensed Professional Teachers by the Professional Regulatory Commission, Philippines.
