Li Wei is a Senior Scientist at Qingdao Institute of BioEnergy and Bioprocess Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received a PhD in Biological Sciences from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. Dr. Wei was a Postdoctoral fellow at Qingdao Institute of BioEnergy and Bioprocess Technology, where he made several discoveries about the CCMs (Carbon Concentration Mechanisms) in marine microalgal Nannochloropsis. He exploited novel genetic tools including RNAi method for gene knockdown and gene overexpression. In addition, he established a series methods for epigenetic study including ChIP-Seq, 3D genome and ATAC-Seq, which would lay on foundation of epigenome editing in Nannochloropsis.
