Biography

Dr. Aparna Anantharaman is a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Immunology at University of Pittsburgh, USA. She has completed her M.Sc. in Plant Molecular Biology from University of Delhi, India, in the year 2004. Later in 2011, she has received her Ph.D in  Biosciences from International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) at New Delhi, India. Dr. Anantharaman has published several papers in reputed journals and has participated in several international conferences. She is an active reviewer for FEBS Letters and Science Matters. Her research interests include 1) Influenza virology and innate immunity - role of RNA binding proteins and noncoding RNA, 2) Cancer research – role of RNA binding proteins and noncoding RNA, 3) Nuclear and long noncoding RNA, 4) Epitranscriptomics – role in viral infection and cancer, 5) Nuclear domains – paraspeckles and speckles.
